Window of Fear

Yesterday we had a system of storms pass through. At our house we had high winds and some hard rain. I looked out the window and saw my fern swinging hard and MamaWren hanging on tight. I ran out and let the fern down and tucked it safely behind a chair. The storm system  passed quickly and all was quiet again.
Today I started to let a little storm arise In my life when my husband reminded me that fear is from the deceiver but we have our faith and trust in The Lord.

Fuzz Balls

So all of my wren babies have hatched and are turning into little fuzz balls!  They are still ugly cute!  It is a blessing to watch them from my window!  Just to think that I almost missed this blessing!  This is a great reminder to not try to rip things away that might bring beauty!

Window Ferns Day 2

I am enjoying my baby wrens. They are growing so fast!  My children are so excited to see each day when more have hatched. They love the pictures.  Jilly was not happy that I wouldn't hold her up to see them. She was quick to understand though.  It is neat to see how God can bless us with His beauty when we don't get our way, like me not wanting a nest in my fern.

Window Ferns

I love hanging ferns on my front porch outside my windows in the spring. The bad thing is trying to keep the birds out of the ferns!  It has been my mission this year to empty the ferns of any nests as soon as they are started.  I was doing great with this and it was working until I failed to check it for about 36 hours.  That's all it took and I had my first egg!  Next thing I know, there are SIX eggs!!! What bird in her right mind would lay 6 stinking eggs!?!?!?  I don't believe in abortion so I guess this makes me a foster mom to birds!  Here's our first hatch!

The Red Breasted Robin.

I love this time of year when I can watch out my kitchen window as a pair of robins build their nest and grow their family. The best part is that they are building their nest in my Dogwood tree. We have been in this house for 6 years and each year has been a blessing to watch. It reminds me of compassion and unconditional love.
The story of the robin tells of a robin who sees Jesus hanging on the cross and it comes to the cross to pluck a thorn out of the brow of Jesus. When it did, a drop of the Savior's blood fell on the bird's breast, forever staining it red. That story is a beautiful picture of compassion and the Savior's unconditional love for us. Wow!!! What an amazing blessing!!

A Stained Glass Window

One of my favorite places to be is in church. Tonight is one of the special times when we get to hear from the recently returned missionaries from St. Lucia. What a wonderful thing to share in the sanctuary; about the sharing and spreading of God's Holy Word.
Our church sanctuary has stained glass windows which depict scenes from the Bible. When I am in the sanctuary, I remember that Jesus is my Sanctuary. He is my Refuge in time of trouble. He is the Cleft in the Rock where I find safety. I am so thankful to serve a Living Savior who loves me enough to constantly watch over me in the easy times and in the hard times. Joy. Peace. Mercy. Love.
