Papaw is also a US Veteran. He served in the Navy in the South Pacific theater from 1944-46.  He was  a Seaman First Classon the USS Botetourt where he served as a Boatcoxen during the Occupation of Japan. Papaw participated in the Honor Flight program in 2011. 

Today, Jackson and Jonah's school (Algood Middle School) presented a breakfast and program to recognize and honor veterans. It was an outstanding program full of national spirit!

November 10

Tomorrow is Veterans Day. Of course my Daddy is my favorite Veteran. 

He served in the US Navy from 1967-71. His tour of service included Great Lakes, Illinois; Millington, Tennessee; Key West, Florida; The USS Yorktown; Quonset Point Rhode Island; NAS Jacksonville, Florida; and Roosevelt Roads, Puerto Rico. 

Daddy was a avaition mechanic. His rank was ADR3 (Petty Officer 3rd class) He received an Honorable Discharge when he left. He has served our country well.

Watching "Where the Red Fern Grows". They are fascinated.

Tennessee Tech homecoming parade with Granny has become a favorite tradition.

Today is Jeremy's 39th birthday.

I love the Spring and Fall when the geese migrate. They always use the pond across from our house as a rest stop. Thay are amazing creatures.
