Christmas Break...it's the most wonderful time of the year...and the noisiest, too! We have had all the ham and turkey and dressing and sweet potatoes we can stand. Last night John said he wanted to take the kids to Ckick-fil-A for lunch today. A welcome change of pace!
I am so thankful for a Christian centered business. I am also thankful that this business realizes that even though we mom's love our babies, we also need a noise barrier from time to time. So they made a play place with a great big window where we can watch them without hearing them!

Her Children Arise and Call Her Blessed
Proverbs 31:28 "Her children arise and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her."
Wow! We probably all long to be a Proverbs 31 woman. Our children call us blessed and our husbands praise us. This morning was a morning like that for me. It is humbling to have one of those moments. Instead of pride taking over, I was in awe of My God and His amazing love for me. I was humbled and encouraged to aim to be that woman.
Here's how it happened:
I got to sleep in late (9:00) and actually was the first one up. That NEVER happens. As I walked through the house going room to room, Jackson, my early bird wakes up and rushes to hug and love on me. "I love you, Mom!" starts my morning. I turned on the Keurig. Jackson hurries to look out the window.
Here's what he sees:

Jackson bows his head and prays, "Lord, thank you for this snow."
My heart melts... Lord, please help me to be the wife and mom that Your heart desires. And please, help me to rejoice in the smallest things that most people wouldn't even notice.

Wendy's Window?
What is Wendy's Window? I guess I can't really say as of yet. I see windows as so many things: an opportunity, a view of the world, a different outlook on life, an escape. It has also been a nick name for me since I was about 20.
So many people are talking about blogging and about how addicting it is. I finally thought I would try jumping into that window to see if it might be for me.
Well, here we go. This is me with my family of monkeys. I am Wendy Apple: domestic engineer... CEO of the Apple household. My husband is John: High School Spanish Teacher and CFO of the Apple household. Our oldest son, Jackson, 10, is in the red sweater. Jonah, 8, is in the orange. And there's the princess, Jillian, 5, who rules the roost! We also have a very small chorkie named Lucy.
I love going to church with my family and teaching Bible Buddies which is the 1st-3rd grade level of Bible Drill. I love being in the house of my Lord. Jesus is the foundation of our home. He is our Solid Rock.
Every Thursday a group of my closest girlfriends and our preschoolers gather at my house for Coffee Girls. It is my favorite day of the week. We drink coffee, some of the girls are hooked on Diet Coke, and we eat and fellowship. There is always prayer and encouragement. We share and laugh...and eat some more. We are silly most of the time and we cry together sometimes. I'm sure that if I can keep this blog going (and if you follow it) you will hear plenty about the CG's! I wish for every woman to have a group of friends like my Coffee Girls!
Well, That's enough for now. The silence in my house is begging for me to join in the sleep. I look forward to what the Lord has in store for me tomorrow!
